MYSTERIOUS SHOOTING
BULLET ENTERS A HOUSE RESIDENT'S NARROW ESCAPE (Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Wednesday Passing within a few inches of Mr Reuben Richards, of Kohimarama, Auckland, on .Monday evening, a bullet from a .22 calibre rille penetrated a double wall on the other side of the room, and was recovered yesterday morning from a cardboard box containing silk in an adjoining linen cupboard. Although Mr Richards heard the shot, he did not appreciate its signiilcance until the morning. Imagining that some intruder was exploding lifeworks in the garden,' lie made a searcli of Ihe property after hearing the discharge of Die rifle, hut it was not unLil he awoke yesterday that he noticed the holes in the window and in the wall.
