SUCCESSFUL PICNICS ACCLIMATISATION CLUB (Special to Times) TE AWAMUTU, Monday The Te Awarnutu branch of the Acclimatisation Society organised a successful picnic during the weekend at Mr Fullerton-Smith's farm k Frontier Road. An event that was a novelty to most people was the flycasting competition, in which quite a number of fishermen took part. A series of clay-bird shooting contests was popular and "perhaps most attractive of all was a demonstration of oldtime Maori cooking methods, a hangi being arranged by Mr and Mrs Roti Roa and Mr and Mrs E.
