PIGEON RACING
HAMILTON CLUB YOUNG BIRD DERBY The Hamilton Homing Pigeon club held two events on Saturday in good weather with a south-west wind prevailing. The Derby, flown from Wanganui, provided an excellent llnish. Mr Ashton winning narrowly in one of the best race® flown Ibis season, thus securing the caslt prize and silver cup. *The other event, flown from Feildirg. a single bird entry, was won by .Mr Manklclow. Ihe only member to get a bird home on the day. Results:— Young Bird Derby.—Ashton, blk. C 451, Jl7 i yds, i: Cooper. HI Hi i7o. 1 173.7yd5. 2: Aitken BCD i 99, 1 173.5 yds, 3; Munktelow BPiJ 18 J, 1171 vds. i. Folding event.—Mr G. W. Manktelow's BCH 482, 590yds. 1. Next week's race will be flown from Otaki.
