icctuiiig aj.., r,uen, who, were also champions last season. *~“in the Dominion's two champions, W. M. Wallace and H. G. Vivian, were in the limelight with centuries. The pair were not separated until they had put on 260 for the wicket. Perhaps the m«st popular cricketer in the whole of Auckland, L. E. Vivian, a brother of the national representative, playing for Middlemore against Y.M.C.A., compiled his first threefigure score in the senior championship. He formerly batted for Eden. Positions of the four matches at stumps were:—Middlemore 313 (L. E. Vivian 132, Pearson 58) against Y.M.C.A., six runs for no wickets. Ponsonby-Balmoral 285 (deal 03, Cleave 40, Rowntree 31 ) against Grafton 38 for two wickets (Martin 26, Elies 0). Parnell 414 (Wallace 170, 11. G. Vivian 120, Whilelaw 45, Hay 38) against Eden. North Shore 163 (Dacre 34) against University 110. The points to date are:—Eden 31. Grafton 26, North Shore 24, Parnell 23, Y.M.G.A. and University 20, Mid- I dlemore 17, Ponsonby-Balmora’l 16.
