SECOND DAY’S RESULTS ELECTRIC SPEAR OVER HURDLES GALILEE SPRINGS SURPRISE (Special from “Martian”) TE AROHA, Monday Fine fields took part in the concluding day of the Te Aroha Jocked Club's annual fixture at the Te Aroha racecourse to-day, when the weather was again good. Winner trained by owner, Onehunga. Improved by his race on the first day, Electric Spear finished very attractively, although he had little to spare in a tight finish with the improving Stansted. Celtic lad, who fell at the first fence on Saturday, gave aii improved showing while Desert star aTter being well placed through out was battling on. Electric Spear was prominent earlv and was followed past the >tands bv Desert ?tar. -Smell. Stanstcd, Aramis. Chikata and Little Briton, with Celtic Lad bringing up the rear. iStansted was taken to the Tront along the back and was three lengths clear or Desert star across the top, with Electric Spear dn close attendance and Smell following a couple or lengths awav, in front of Celtic Lad, Chikara, Manawahe, Little Briton and Aramic. There wa« no alteration as they raced to the turn and once over the last fence Electric Spear and Stansted fought out an exerting finish for the former to prevail by a head. Celtic Lad was third, two and a-half lengths away with Desert Star fourth, in front of Slwell and Chikara, then a gap oo Little Briton and a further interval to Manawahe and Aramis. Time, 3.13.

Dragon Moth was early prominent from Kaspian and Telamon, this trio leading along the back from Broadway, Ngawiri and Mintlaw with Odtaa near the rear veritable had run up behind Dragon .Moth at the half-mile where Broadway Bill. Galilee returned to form when, after hitting the front five Turlongs from home, she was never afterwards headed, and returned a win price of over a quarter of a century. Pirate King made another fine ehowtnc, fatUng only by a narrow margin to reach the w-inner. Ivar and Pnnce Rang! appeared to be squeezed back at the .-tart and Jayola led out lTom Pirate King and Lornacre. Lornacre took up the running along the back rrom Galilee and Little Artist, with Jayola following in rront or Pirate King. Besiege, Val-pear, Jvai and V ery Glad. Galilee then moved through and she was followed at the half-mile by Little Artist, Jayola, VaJspear, Very Glad. Pirate King and Lornacre, with Besiege nn the outer. Galilee and Little Artist were showing out lrom Valspear at the home turn and In another fina finish Galilee prevailed by a neck over Pirate King who finished attractively on the rails to beat Jayola by a head.
