WOMAN WITH CHINESE HUSBAND MAGISTRATE IMPOSES £25 FINE (By Telegraph.—Prp=s Association) WELLINGTON, Saturday “ We have not many female addicts in Wellington. She is about the only one we know of,” said Sub-Inspector O’Neill when Marjorie Lock (39) pleaded guilty before Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., to-day to being found in possession of opium in a form suitable for smoking. The woman, ho said, was the wife of a Chinese, and her husband was serving a sentence for an opium offence. It was also stated that when the premises were entered accused offered a constable £5 to say nothing. Accused: I would like to keep my name out of the papers. The Magistrate imposed the minimum fine of £25 and allowed a month to pay.
