FITNESS WEEK
KEEN INTEREST DISPLAYED MINISTER’S GRATIFICATION (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Friday The interest displayed by the people and press of the Dominion in the aim for physical fitness underlying various carnivals, sports and other gatherings held during the national campaign week closing to-morrow had given an impetus to the movement, which would lead to the success of the work now' being undertaken by the National Council of Physical Welfare and Recreation and the various district committees appointed to act In co-operation with the council, said the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry, to-night. In a large measure the success attained had been due to the splendid organising efforts of the committees throughout New Zealand and to the public's practical interest. The Minister said he was calling together the members of the National Council on March 29, when their reports and those of committees would be discussed for guidance in future.
