ASSISTANCE TO GROWERB PROPOSALS IN BRITAIN (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, Feb. 23 The Minister of Agriculture, Sir Reginald Dorman-Smith, announced in the House of Commons that the Government had reached the conclusion that it was necessary to give additional assistance to growers of barley and oats, and proposed when its long term policy had been finally settled, that it should be applied retrospectively to both these cereals in respect of the 1938 crops.
