Why is an angry man like 59 minutes past 12?—Because he is about to strike one. What is the difference between a teacher at a gymnasium and a robber? —The teacher says “ hands down ” and the robber says “ hands up.” Which band is seen but never heard?—A hat band. Why does a shopper like a cheeky fishmonger?—Because he gives her sauce with the fish. What is the difference between a watch-seller and a jailer?—One sells watches, and the other watches cells. How do railway engines hear?— Through their engineers (ear). Why is a grocer a heavy man?—Because his business makes him weigh tea (weighty). What is the difference between a dressmaker and a doctor? —One cuts dresses; the other dresses cuts. What does every man overlook? His nose. Why is last week like football? Because it is a past time (pastime).
