FAREWELL EVENING
NQARUAWAHIA GIRL GUIDES An enjoyable function took place in the Parish Hall, Ngaruawahia, recently, when the committee and members of the Ngaruawahia Girl Guides gathered to bid farewell to Miss Margaret Isdale, who leaves for Dunedin |o further pursue her studies at the Otago University. Miss Isdale, who has been an active member of the Girl Guides for several years, was the recipient of a handsome leather writing companion, presented her by Mrs A. Potter, president, on behalf of the committee, and a beautiful pair of book-ends presented by Lieutenant E. Speirs, on behalf of the guides. In making the presentation both Mrs Potter and Lieutenant Speirs spoke highly of the work which Miss Isdale had done in her capacity as a guide and wished her every success in the future. Miss Isdale suitably responded. The evening was spent with games, vocal interludes being presented by Mrs Potter and Mrs B. Mear. Among those present were:—Mesdames A. Potter, B. Mear, Guy Marriott, F. Hall, J. D. Joy, G. B. Isdale, M. Loughnan, R. Tanfield, Lieutenant Speirs, Miss Babs’ Ensor, Miss May Rayner.
