GIFT AFTERNOON
MISS L. O’HEARN HONOURED A happy time was spent at “Crosbv Farm,” Gordonton, the home of Mrs W. J. Bridgman recently’, \£hen Mrs S. Watt and Miss Mercia Carswell entertained a number of friends at a gift party in honour of Miss Laurel O'Hearn, who is shortly to be married. Competitions were enjoved, and won by Misses Betty Bailey, Mary Williamson and Jean O’Hearn. The guest-of-honour opened the numerous gift parcels, and expressed her thanks, and on behalf of the Gordonton Women's Institute, Miss Mary Williamson presented a fancy plate. A delicious afternoon tea was later served on the spacious verandah. Among those present were :—Mesdames W. J. Bridgman, W. McLeod, E. McMullen, B. Cleland. Misses Biddv o'llearn, Ivy Mayall, Isabel Sharp. Betty Bailey, Merle Saxton, June Taylor, Jean O'Hearn. Sybil Cleland, Joyce Letford, Thelma' McMahon! Mary Williamson, Tilly McLeod.
