SYDNEY, Feb. 24
The Premier of New South Wales Mr B. S. Stevens, told the Legislativ
Assembly to-day that the loss of skilled tradesmen to New Zealand in large numbers would be likely to create a difficult problem for builders here, as well as for the Defence Department, and he intends to discuss the matter to-morrow with the New Zealand Government representative.
Melbourne master builders say they will be gravely embarrassed if many men leave for New Zealand. Sufficient work is available to employ every man continuously for 12 months. The New Zealand Government representative in Melbourne, Mr Malcolm, is receiving 30 applications a day, which he will submit to Mr Hodgens when he arrives in Melbourne at the end of next week
