Cambridge has challenged Matangi for the first gatin' for the new trophy and the encounter will be held at Claudelands at 2.3 U to-morrow afternoon. Tiie trophy will be contested under the same rules as the Cameron Cup, the leading scratch challenge trophy in the province. The decision of the Matangi Polo Club to make tiie Rickit Cup a scratch challenge trophy means that challenges will become among the most important polo games played in the province. The first challenge tomorrow, there l ure, is bound to be full of interest. Wealth of Talent With the Waikato the home of polo in I lie Dominion, the wealth of lalent in the district is comparatively abundant. For that reason the selection of the Auckland provincial quartette to contest the Australasian Gold Cup at Feilding during the New Zealand championship tournament in March will be no easy task. The selectors will watch form to-morrow very keenly while the players will be anxious to give of their best. For that reason also the game is hound to be atlraclive and a much higher standard of play may he expected Ilian at Cambridge last fortnight when the Cameron Cup was at slake, for the ground at Claudelands is much faster than the Cambridge turf. The Matangi Club is anxious to turn the Tables on Cambridge and. as both clubs are fielding their Savile Cup teams, the contest should be keen ami the playets will obtain valuable practice for the big fixture ahead of them next month at Feilding. Cameron Cup at Staka To add to a galaxy of attractions at Claudelands to-morrow, the Cameron Cup will be at stake also. • The trophy is held by the Cambridge Club which has entrusted its B team to withstand a challenge from Morrinsville. Last fortnight Morrinsville defeated Cambridge B for the Somers’ Cup in most convincing style at Cambridge. Both teams, which have fine credentials, will be stronger To-morrow than on the previous occasion and the encounter will doubtless be a keen one. The teams for the Rickit Cup match to-morrow are as follows: Cambridge A. (challengers) : R. Nolan, R. Peake, L. R. Kay, K. Peake. Matangi A holders) : C. G. Howlett. G. Peake. J. R. Ranstead, H.
