CASE PRE-JUDGED
HEARD WEEK TO SOON i DANGEROUS DRIVING CHARGE j On the ground that the case had been heard, in the absence of the defendant, a week before the date j indicated in the summons served upon her, Mr S. L. Paterson, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court, Hamilton, to-day granted an application made by Mr W. J. King for the re-hearing of the case in which Ruby Emily Elizabeth fuck, widow, of Frankton, was convicted of dangerous driving on February 16. The charge was brought by Inspector C. D. Treadgold, of the Transport Department, and at the hearing on February 16 defendant was convicted and fined £5 and her driving license was suspended for a month. In making his application for a rehearing, Mr King said he would like the opportunity to place before the court certain facts and also to crossexamine. The application was granted by Mr Paterson who fixed the date for re-hearing at M&rch 3.
