VISITORS ENTERTAINED
BUILDERS’ WIVES WELCOMED Following the civic reception tendered to delegates to the annual conference of the New Zealand Federated Builders' and Gontractors’ Industrial Association of Employers by the Hamilton Master Builders’ Industrial Union of Employers, yesterday morning, the delegates and their wives were entertained to morning tea at the Y.W.C.A. rooms, Mrs D. C. Street, wife of t.he Hamilton president, acting as hostess. Mrs W. A. Petrie, wife of the New Zealand president, and Mrs Street were presented during the function with beautiful bouquets by little Rita Stapleton. During the afternoon the delegates’ wives were taken by car for a visit to Te Aroha. where they inspected the new soda geyser and were entertained to afternoon tea at the Domain Tearooms. Mr R. Coulter, the Mayor, being present.
In the evening the visitors were the guests of the Hamilton Association at a cinema party. Visitors attending the function were Mesdames AY. A. Petrie (Timaru), W. E. Jones (Lower Hutt), R. Jenkins Masterton;, R. Moxon (Palmerston North), T. N. Dickson (Wanganui), C. S. Lunev (Christchurch), F. G. Rose (Auckland), A. Fletcher (Wellington), J. B. Johns (Christchurch), L. Griffiths (Dunedin), Proctor (Unvercargill), and Misses Taylor (Wellington), and Griffiths (Dunedin )
Members of the ladies’ committee of the Hamilton Association are:—Mesdames D. G. Street, D. I. Gate, W. B. Young, H. D. Curling, W. Short, J. R. McKinnon and M. H. Stapleton.
