High Caste, easily defeated Early Bird, the fast three-year-old in a five-fur-long gallop at Caulfield, the time being 1.3. High Caste ran the first three furlongs in 36 seconds, and the four furlongs in 49 seconds. He had Early Bird beaten for pace throughout. The New Zealander's first race In Australia will bp in the Alma Stakes at Caulfield next Saturday.
