DUAL VOTING CASE SEQUEL TO PRISON SENTENCE (By Telegraph.—Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, Wednesday It is understood that consideration is being given to the question of lodging an appeal against the sentence of six months’ imprisonment imposed on Percy Allen by Air Justice Reed in the Supreme Court on Monday for the offence of impersonation or dual voting at the General Election. It was shown in the Lower Court hearing that Allen voted at two booihs and also that tie had been drinking heavily prior to the day of Ihe election and on the morning of the election. At the preliminary hearing Allen pleaded not guiliv and was committed for trial. Prior to the opening of the Supreme Court accused intimated his desire to plead guilty and was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment. Counsel for accused. Mr I. W. B. Roy, stated to-day that it is likely an appeal will be lodged.
