FAT STOCK SALES BIQ DROP IN BEEF VALUES GOOD DEMAND FOR PIGS AUCKLAND, Thursday Heavy entries came forward in 111 hoof and rail’ sections at the Wcslfb'li fat stock sales yesterday, and value defined sharply. The Farmers’ -Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report having held their usual Cambridge stock sale, when a good entry of fat and store sheep came forward and sold at recent quotations. There was a large entry of all classes of cattle, with beef selling at late rates, boner cows and potter bulls maintaining schedule values. A medium entry of store cattle were more difficult to dispose of. A large yarding of fat pigs, consisting mainly of porkers, sold at late rates with practically a total clearance resulting. A medium entry of store pig’s sold before a good bench of buyers. Small weaners were hard to quit, but for others competition was keen. There was only ! a moderate attendance, and the bidding for the most part was lifeless, a number of lines of aged sheep failing to change hands. The majority of the yarding consisted of boner cows and prices for these showed a slight decline.
