PARLIAMENTRY SESSION ASSEMBLY IN JUNE (By Telegraph—rross Association) WELLINGTON, Tuesday An indication that Parliament would I meet at the normal time, about the ! third week in June, unless something i at present -unforeseen made it necessary to meet sooner, was given by the Prime Minister, the Right Hon. M. J. Savage, in an interview this evening. This will be the first session of the present Parliament as elected last October. | Mr Savage said he had hoped to : arrange to bring the sessions of Parliament forward a little by starting a > ! few weeks earlier than the normal , \ time. His sole object in doing this ■ j was to finish the business of Parliament well before Christmas, for he . 1 realised that Parliamentary sittings i almost right up to the end of the year . ; must be a disturbing influence on j holiday trade and business, t ! “It looks as if it will not be pos- . ; sible to meet earlier this year,” said )' Mr Savage. "We have had so many l | big problems to deal with that we , j have not been able to give the ques- ! tion of earlier sessions of Parliament f the attention it deserves." *!
