FIREMAN’S DEATH

MOTOR ACCIDENT VICTIM SU-CCUMBS TO HEAD INJURIES The death occurred in the Waikato Hospital last evening of Mr Richard Nowland (22), a member of the Hamilton Fire Brigade, who was admitted on Sunday with severe head injuries as the result of a car, in which he was a passenger, capsizing on the FranS ton-Whatawhata Road, about three miles from Whatawhata. Mr Nowland, who came from Whakatane, joined the Hamilton Brigade as an auxiliary fireman on September 20 last year* Inquest Opened The inquest into the death of Mr Richard Nowland was opened before the coroner, Mr F. W. P* tts, this afternoon. Following evidence of identification the inquest was adjourned sine die.
