PROMINENT POLO PLAYER 1 ACCIDENT IN CALIFORNIA (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LOS ANGELES, Feb. 19 When a pony stumbled and rolled him, Captain Pat Roark, the noted British polo player, suffered a severe [ injury to the brain, the outcome of which doctors say is problematical. Captain Roark was playing No. 3 in a British team led by the Australian, Bob Skene, in the first preliminary match for the International Cup series * in June. The British team, which shipped 56 ponies to America, is making a sixmontas* tour in an unprecedented attempt io regain the trophy, which has been held by America since 1914.
