RIFLE SHOOTING
JHATAMATA CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT (Special to Times} MATAMATA. Monday The Matamata Rifle Club continued tta championship tournament on Saturday over the 800 yards range. A double shoot was held, the last ten shots counting for the championship. In this section W. M. Griffiths compiled the fine total of 48. Details are as follows: I'. Reynolds »7, 4D —92: W. M. Abont 4Of) people representing all sports organisations and led by the band marched in procession from the Town Hall to the domain on Saturday to Inaugurate the Matamata Physical Fitness week. On arrival at the domain the Mayor Mr W. A. Gordon gave a fhort address and this was followed by exhibitions of basketball, an association football match and displays by Matamata Boy Scouts. There was a good attendance of the public and the displays created considerable interest. The weeks programme is to be continued on Thursday night when the swimming club will put on a special exhibition programme and on Saturday evening when a gala sports programme has been arranged for Bedford Pari;
