TRUMP WHIST EVENING
MRS S. HAINES ENTERTAINS Trump whist, a novel variation of auction bridge, was the entertainment arranged by Mrs Stanley Haines, when she invited some of her friends to her home at Cambridge on Friday evening. In the sitting room vases of phlox and antirrhinums in autumn tonings were charmingly arranged. The hostess was wearing a frock of beech brown paisley romaine relieved with a front panel of pleated lime green sheer. Miss Peg Ranstead was the winner of the highest score, Miss Margaret Cox winning the consolation prize. Other guests were:—Mrs Ralph Taylor, Mrs J. R. Ranstead, Mrs A. Moore, Miss Joan Meredith, Miss Joyce Lewis, Miss Jocelyn Rush, Miss Heather Taylor, Miss Myrtle Holmes and Miss Joan Sayers.
