SCHOOL CALF CLUBS
KAWHIA SOUTH GROUP ANNUAL COMPETITIONS The annual calf club competitions of the combined schools or the Kawhia South group were held at the Awtmarino School grounds recently. The competitions in the various sections were followed with keen Interest by a large number of spectators. Mr S. Dale, of Hamilton, Judged both calves and lambs, assisted by Mr J. XV. Connell, agricultural officer for the Education Department. The Judging results were a* follows: Calves, light breed, dairy type: Edna Thrush iXwamarino/ 1. Reg Parker Awamarino; 2. Edward Fordham Maraknpa* 3. Alex Slokes * Piripiri * i. Heavy breed, dairy type: June vtrary Kintehere) 1, Athol Sloke, , kinohakau No. 1 , 2. Caff rearing competition. Uhol stokes and Edward Fordhain (equal ; 1. Reg Parker 2, Alex Stokes 3. Champion caff: Edna Thrush. Reserve champion: Edward Fordliam. Lambs: Jean Parker (Awamarlno) 1. Alex Slater 'Kinohakau No. 2) 2, Betty bererourt ''Kinohakau No. 1) 3, Donald Thomson (Awamarino) 4. Mrs (i. Gordon presented the championship cup and decorated the winners.
