GORDONTON BEAT TAUPIRI TWO SETS MARGIN (Special to Times) TAUPIRI, Monday The Taupiri tennis team travelled to Gordonton and was defeated by the home team by nine sets to seven. Details are as follows, Taupiri players being mentioned first: — Men’s Singles.—Williamson beat Humphreys, 9 —B; Button beat P. Orr, 9 —6; Braddock beat Barry, 9—3; Cullen lost to T. Orr, 6—9. Women’s Singles.—Mrs Gibb lost to Miss Mayall, 5—7; Mrs Williamson lost to Miss Taylor, 4 —7; Miss B. Gumming beat Miss Cain, 7—o; Miss M. Cumming lost to Mrs Lister, I—7 Men’s Doubles.—Williamson and Button beat Humphreys and Barry, 9—4: Braddock and Cullen lost to P. Orr and T. Orr. 7—9. Women's* doubles: Mrs Williams-on and Mrs Gibb lost to Misses Mayall and Taylor, I—7: Misses B. and M.
