GAMING CHARGES

HAMILTON POLICE RAID TWO MEN REMANDED Following raids carried out by Hamilton detectives to-day, Christopher Howe Nicholson and Byron Joseph Baumberg were charged before Mr F. McGuire, J.P., in the Hamilton Police Court to-day with using premises in Victoria Street as common gaming houses and Percy Raymond Allport was charged with assisting in the commission of the offence with which Nicholson was charged.

All were remanded on the application of Detective-Sergeant J. Thompson until Thursday. In the case of Nicholson and Baumberg bail was fixed at £IOO on accused’s own cognisance and one surety of £IOO in each case, while in the case of Allport hail was fixed at £SO on his own cognisance and one surety of £SO.
