MISS MARY BARTON HONOURED Bowls of hydrangeas were arranged about the room and golden-shaded summer flowers decorated the Tshaped table at the Centreway Rooms recently, when Miss Mary Barton was the guest-of-honour at a gft party given for her by Miss Peggy Thomson. Miss Barton's marriage to Mr H. Holloway takes place this evening. Following the serving of a delicious afternoon tea, Miss Br/rton opened the numerous parcels, and thanked the donors for their good wishes and charming gifts. Miss Thomson received her guests in a cream figured frock worn with a navy jacket and a navy hat. The bride-elect was wearing a gypsy striped frock and a small black hat. Those present were : —Mesdames 0. Thomson, C. H. Holloway, C. F. E. Barton, E. B. Thomson. Misses H. Speight, A. Holloway, N. Barton, N. Hewetson, E. Hewetson, J. Bales, J. Adams, E. Hebbert, M. SOCIAL AND DANCE PRESENTATION MADE At an enjoyable social and dance lield in the Toorak Chambers recently by the Hamilton Amateur Swimming Club, Miss Mary Barton, whose marriage takes place this evening was presented by the president, Mr L. Day, on behalf of the members, with a chromium cigarette stand. Mr Day and Mr A. Sulherland both expressed they* good wishes for her future happiness. Mr H. Holloway suitably responded. Miss Barton was wearing a cream figured sheer frock.
