. MAGNOLIA SATIN GOWN The marriage was solemnised at St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Cambridge, on Saturday, February 11, between Gladys Ailsa, only daughter of Mrs G. Stuart and the late Mr W. A. Stuart, of Victoria Road, Cambridge, and George, elder son of Mr J. Henry and the late Mrs A. Henry, of Victoria Avenue, Whakatane, Bay of Plenty. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her brother, Mr W. A. R. Stuart, wore a slim-fitting gown of magnolia shaded duchess satin made on classical lines, with a heart-shaped neckline, edged with tulle and silver thread, and caught with sprays of orange blossom. The long, plain sleeves, which came to a point over the hands, were also edged with tulle. The skirt was made with a shirred panel, inset from the waistline at the back and falling into a graceful train edged with tulle and embroidered with silver true-lovers’ knots and finished

with sprays of orange blossoms. The bride’s veil, which formed a second train longer than that of her fro'ck, was worn over her face, and caught with, a coronet of miniature lilies and orange blossom. She carried a sheaf of deep cream gladioli, cloth of gold roses, and maidenhair fern, and also a cream satin horseshoe trimmed with orange blossom. The bride was attended by 'Mrs Evelyn Stewart, Miss May Henry, sister of the bridegroom, and little Noelene White, all of Whakatane. The> were dressed alike in long frocks ot ice-blue sheer, belted at the waist with full puffed sleeves of honeygold tulle, which also trimmed the heartshaped necklines. From the neckline to hem were tiny honeygold velvei forget-me-nots. They wore bonnetof blue pleated tulle trimmed with toning flowers and tied under the chin with velvet ribbons. They carried horseshoes of blue pleated tulle, trimmed to match the bonnets. Mr R. iK. Oxenham acted as best man, and Mr J. Henry, brother of the bridegroom, as groomsman. Mr J. N. Stuart, brother of the bride, and Mr S. Alderton, cousin of the bride, acted as ushers at the church.

After the ceremony, a reception was held in the Parish Hall, where the guests were received by Mrs Stuart, who was wearing a smart gown of black and white French sheer, relieved with white, and a matching hat ol gramophone straw. She carried a mauve posy. ,Mrs Peatson, aunt of the bridegroom, wore a navy and white frock and navy coat and a matching hat. She carried a blue posy. The bride’s grandmother . was wearing a smart navy patterned frock and nav\ sheer coat and matching hat, and she carried a scarlet posy. The bride travelled in a navy •shadowed taffeta costume and a while and navy hat and matching accessories. Their future home will be in Opotiki.
