Feb. 16 The Bank of England return for the week Is as follows: — Issue department, notes in circulation, £473,200,000; notes in banking department, £53,200.000; other Government securities £388,600,000: other securities, nil; silver coin. £4 00,000; rest of hanking department £3,600,000; public deposits, £12,500,000; bankers’ deposits, £1 10,600,000; other accounts £35.500.000: Government securities, £82,500,000; discounts and advances, £18,100,000; other securities. £21.900,000; notes and coin, £5 i,200,000; ratio of reserve to liabilities 13 19. The Bank of England discount rate remains unchanged at 2 per cent.
