SYSTEM OF BETTING
WIN AND PLACE The win and place system of betting will be in operation at Te Rapa to-morrow with three place dividends in fields of eight or more, two place dividends in fields of five, six or seven and one dividend in fields of less than five runners. On the win machine dividends will be paid on the first horse only. Bracketed horses count as one number on the totalisator. WHAT THE FLAGS INDICATE The hoisting of the flags on the number board denotes the following— Red: Winner weighed in all right. Green: Protest entered. Brown: Protest dismissed. Blue: Protest sustained. White: Stewards required. Yellow: Doctor required in casualty room. White. Blue Cross: Veterinary surgeon required. SECOND DAY FIELDS TO-MORROW’S SPECIAL EDITION The acceptances for the second day, Monday, will be published in a special issue of the Waikato Times at 9.15 on Saturday evening. The issue will be on sale in Hamilton, Cambridge, Te Awamutu •nd Ngaruawahla.
