CHEAPER EWES
morrinsville values 12,000 SHEEP FORWARD (By Tel.—Times special Reporter) MORRINSVILLE. Friday The market for breeding ewes at the Morrinsville fair to-day lacked the enthusiasm of previous weeks and values for all classes were lower. The quality of the sheep was not up to the standard of those seen at the yards during the past fortnight and this was one factor that militated against keen competition. Five-year-old ewes from the East Coast were at least 2s per head lower than last week, making from 12s 6d to 17s lOd. A line of 271 mixed aged ewes mostly four-year-olds realised 20s, while, a small line of 2-tooths, sold early, made 25s 6d. A consignment of 103 six-year-old sheep sold to the bid of 9s 6d while a smaller line of 75 was knocked down at 8s 6d. Store lambs were also slightly cheaper.
