SPORT GOOD FOR WOMEN
DECIMA NORMAN’S OPINION Women who come into business equipped with a knowledge of sport and some experience in it are a greater asset than those who have no sporting qualifications, Miss Hecima Norman, Empire Comes sprint champion, told business girls at their weekly luncheon at Farmer’s. Sydney. Miss Norman is in charge of a number of girls in the office of a trim in Western Australia. “Girls who have played sport arc more attentive and alert. They think quickly and act quickly in the sporting field, and this ability they carry into their business life," she said. This famous athlete said that she was often asked if sport were harmful for women. I always reply, ■definitely no.' Sport is excellent for women. All women should play some sport, either tennis or golf or badminton. "1 have never had an illness since I took up athletics about eight years ago, and I put this down to my training,'’ she added.
