NEW ZEALAND INSTITUTE ELECTION OP OFFICERS (By Telegraph—Press Association) DUNEDIN, Wednesday The annual conference of the New Zealand Institute of Architects began this morning and was attended bv delegates from all parts of the Dominion. The conference was presided over by Mr Cecil W. Wood, of Christchurch. Mr F. Messenger, of New Plymouth, was elected an honorary fellow of the Institute (non-subscribing class). The following resolution was carried : “That a sub-committee be established in Wellington to consider and make recommendations regarding a handbook as a guide to the examination system, the committee to consist of the advisory members of the education committee and three other members who have passed their final examination within the past seven years, and that the executive, on receiving the report as to the scope of the handbook, distribute it for suggestions to district branches.” The election of councillors resulted as follows:—Messrs P. S. Alleman. L. S. Piper, H. L. Massey and P. C. I. Crooks (Auckland), E. E. Gillman and J. H. Edgecumbe (South Auckland), F. A. Williams. F. H. Forge and R. Natusch (Hawke’s Bay-Cishome). F. E. Greenish, W. K. Cook, J. I. King and H. C. Morton (Wellington), J. A. J. Hart, P. Watts Rule. G. D. Griffiths and A. H. Manson (Canterbury),’ H. McDowell Smith, N. Y. A. Waies and L. D. Coombs (Otago). Clark. Menzles, Griffen and Company (Wellington) were reappointed auditors.
