'TO-DAY’S RECIPE

ONION TOAST Take t lb. Spanish onions. 0 rashers bacon. \ teaspoon salt, cold water, 2-3rds cup milk, 3 tablespoons flour, seasoning, toast. Peel and slice onions into a saucepan. Cover with cold water. Aid salt to taste. Cover and cook till tender. Remove rind from bacon and fry. Drain off two tablespoons of bacon fat into a s;<icepan. Stir in flour and brown slightly. Add milk by degrees and then one-third cup of the oi,ion liquor. Add onions. Season to taste with pepper and salt. Serve piled on toast. Garnish with bacon. Enough for '3 persons.
