DANCE AT CAMBRIDGE
GIRLS’ FRIENDLY SOCIETY Unusual and artistic decorations lent to the Parish Hall at Cambridge a delightful setting for the successful dance held last week by the St. Andrew’s branch of the Girls' Friendly Society. Offset by a profusion of streamers and balloons decorating the hall, the stage had been converted into a miniature garden surrounded by a trellis fence. Supper was served out of doors on the lawns, which were illuminated with gay coloured lights. Bright dance music was played' by Clayton's Orchestra, Mr J. Linsley being M.C. Members of the ladies’ committee present were: — Mesdames C. W. Chandler, who was wearing black velvet; W. Haworth, flowered ninon; J. Linsley, black panne velvet; J. Blackman, brown sheer; Misses Mary Wilkinson, navy patterned crepe suede; Kathleen Ibbotson, striped sheer; Gwenda Speight, Marina blue spotted taffeta; Joan Wild, navy checked sheer; Rosalie Henson, flowered georgette.
