GREENS IN GOOD ORDER ORDINARY DRAW GAMES Ordinary draw pan es and club competitions occupied the attention of * most of the Hamilton howling clubs on Saturday when ideal conditions prevailed. The greens were in good order • and a high standard of play was witnessed in most of the games. With four rounds of one hour each some very keen games were contested, two teams gaining four wins, resulting in a play-off between the teams skipped by Evans and Wilson. the final being won by Wilson with a decisive score of 9 —l in six heads. CAMBRDGE CLUB WAIKATO SHIELD LOST MEMORLXL PRESENTATION (Special tn Times) CAMBRIDGE, Sunday There was an average attendance at the Cambridge green? yesterday. The No. 1 green was in splendid order. The Claudelands Club sent over a challening rink for the Waikato Shield, the local holder© being badly beaten. Following the tea adjnornment the members and visitors assembled in Trent or the. pavilion, where, on behalf of Mrs Muller of Cambridge. Mr 11. Amyes, presented to the club a beautiful brass gong and striker. Mr Amyes paid tribute to the late Mr William Muller, as one or the staunchest and most, respected members the club ever had. The presentation had been made to the club in his memory. Mrs Muller then handed the gift to the | club's president. In returning thanks Mr W. R. Garrard I reiterated the tribute paid by Mr Amyes and at the president's rail hearty cheers were then given for Mrs Muller. Results of games played were:— Waikato Shield—Glaudelands (challengers.). Players taking part in the morning games are asked to be on the greens at 8.45 a.m. and afternoon players at t .45 p.m. ROTORUA BOWLING TOURNEY CONCLUDES WIN FOR ONEHUNGA (Special to Times) ROTORUA, Monday The annual open rinks tournament of the Rotorua Bowling Club was concluded on Saturday afternoon when, in one of the most interesting finals played on the Rotorua greens, J. Macklow, A. Gatland. F. Livingstone and A. Robertson (Onehunga) beat J. Ogilvie, S. Harper, 11. Sykes and J. Gardiner (Otahuhu by 19 points to 17. The Otahuhu rink held the lead for the greater part of the game, but Robertson, whose team had played consistently well through the tournament, was responsible for a strong finish. Both teams had bard-fought gam os in the morning. Robertson having defeated Maher Auckland by 21 to 19 and Gardiner beating Michell Whitiora by a similar score. At the elose of the fourth head Gardiner led by 5—2. but Robertson equalised on the tenth.
