He said he was a man of sincere piety and bore immense burdens with dignity and courage. Particular attention is devoted in the newspaper reviews to the Pope’s interest in recent international affairs and his tireless efforts for world peace, which he maintained until the end. Copyright) (Received Feb. 11, 11.30 a.m.) VATICAN CITY, Feb. 10 Signor Mussolini and Count Giano visited the Vatican to pay their last respects and Herr Hitler sent a message of condolence. Flags were flown at half-mast in Rome, Berlin and Paris. Signor Mussolini sent the following message to Cardinal Pacelli: “The disappearance of the Pope of Conciliation means mourning for the church and Italian people.
