Weir Transferred The Rotorua club, the Waikato subcentre, and athletes generally in the Auckland Province will suffer a severe loss in the impending departure for Wellington of G. H. Weir. The career of ' Jerry” Weir, both as active participant and as an official, is worthy of more than passing note, and “Nurmi” intends to review It fully next. week. The actual date of departure is not yet set but it Is expected to be some time in March. Te Awamutu on March 11 As predicted in last week's notes, the Te Awamutu club secured March 11 for the holding of their postponed meeting. The secretary will receive further entries not later than March 1. Intending competitors would do well to note that the Te Awamutu secretary is both efficient and strict, and entry forms minus entry fees may be consigned to the waste paper basket. Cyclists’ Colours In an effort to focus the attention of cycling competitors on the necessity "of parading in their correct uniform, the sub-centre will henceforth appoint for each meeting a cycling costume steward. This official has instructions that no cyclist be allowed to compete except in the proper registered colours of his club. In fairness to the greater proportion of cyclists, it was noted that only a small minority offended, but nevertheless, these exceptions complicated matters considerably for spectators and officials.
