MUSIC EXAMINATIONS

THE ASSOCIATED BOARD Examinations this year in New Zealand will be conducted by Dr. J. F. Staton F.R.C.0., L.R.A.M. Dr. Staton was born in Sheffield, and has toured France, Germany and Belgium as pianist and conductor, besides undertaking examinations for the Board in England, and acting as judge at many musical festivals in England, Canada and South Africa. Tie has published many songs, part songs, and choruses, besides piano and organ music. For his war service he was awarded the Croix de Guierre. Dr. Staton will arrive in New Zealand in July and will travel through both Islands.

Douglas Corrigan In Aviation Film Douglas Corrigan, whose sensational “wrong way” flight to Ireland focussed the eyes of Hie world upon him, has returned from New York to Hollywood and will report to RKO Radio studios for the start of the screen story of his life tentatively titled “The Flying Irishman.” With the exception of a few scenes depicting his early boyhood, scenes in which a child actor will he used, Corrigan will portray himself throughout the film. The story of his life has been written, and the screen play now is being completed by Ernest Pagano and Dalton Trumbo.
