OTOROHANGA AND PIO PIO Messrs Abraham and .Williams, Limited, report on their Otorohanga sale this week as follows: We had a small penning of sheep and cattle and a full yarding of pigs. There was a fair attendance and prices were on a par with late ruling rates. Fat pigs were in demand and were firm at schedule rates. Quotations:—Medium store lambs, 9s to 10s; aged ewes, 8s; light fat hoggets, 14s lOd. Good boner cows, £3 13s to £4; plainer, £3 to £3 7s 6d; potter bulls, £5 to £5 15s; 20-month Jersey heifers, £4. At Pio Pio on Thursday we had a medium yarding of sheep' and cattle. Most of the sheep penned were store lambs for which there was fair though not keen competition. The market for cattle was slack and though there was a clearance, under the hammer prices were in buyers’ favour. Quotations:—Fat wethers, 20s; good 2tooth wethers, 15s 8d; fair to good Romney wether lambs, 10s 9d to 1 Is Id; small ewe lambs, 11 s Id to 11s 3d; culls, «s 4d: small wether lambs, 5s to 6s 9d. Boner cows, good quality, £3 9s; light sorts, £3 7s; Jersey 2-year steers, £2 5s to £2 13s; yearling S.H. steers, £2 16s; Jersey 2-year heifers, £3 to £3 10*; light potter bulls, £3 10s.
