GREAT SONOMA DIES
GOOD CLASS PERFORMER SUCCUMBS AT EPSOM The straight-out trotter. Great Sonoma, who contracted strangles three weeks ago, died yesterday at Epsom. Great Sonoma was an aged son of Sonoma Harvester from a Great Audubon mare, and he was * good class performer. At Thames, aa. November 5. he won the Omahu Handicap from 108 yards behind in 4.41. and a few weeks later at the Waikato trots captured the ciaudelands Handicap from 144 yards behind in the same time. Great Sonoma was owne4 by -Mrs G. H. Mitchell and he wsa trained at Epsom by C. M. Morrison.
