ELECTROCUTED
PUBLIC WORKS LINESMAN FATALITY AT RUAKURA LYING ACROSS THE WIRES Found lying Across the electric power lines shortly after 4 o’clock yesterday afternoon, a linesman employed by the Public Works Department, Mr John Turner (33), married, of Pirongia, was dead when he was brought down. Mr Turner, who was a Maori, was engaged In assisting In alterations ta the Ruakura Farm of Instructtoß electrical service and was working at the top of a service pole near the farm offices. The control of the electrical supply Is being transferred from the Public Works Department to the Central Waikato Electric Power Board and a change In the feeding lines was being made. Apparently Mr Turner contacted two power lines while moving on the top of the pole and his plight was first noticed by Mr A. M. Lee, an agricultural instructor, who was in a Held some 30 yards away. Mr Lee saw Mr 'Turner lying across the wires. An inquest was opened this morning before Mr F. W. Platts.
