EIGHTEEN FOOT YACHTS
WORLD’S CHAMPIONSHIP NOMINATIONS FOR AUCKLAND (Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Thursday Nominations for the world’s 18ft. yachting championship to be held in Auckland next week closed yesterday as follows:—Limerick and Manoa (Royal Akarana) ; Manaia, Manu, Vaalele (Richmond) ; Irina (Takapuna) ; Shamrock (Victoria) ; Arline (Wakatere) ; Lanai, Miracle (Tamaki) ; Manene (Herne Bay) ; Riptide (Point Chevalier); Ponty (Otahuhu); Mercedes (Devonport) ; Jeanette (Ponsonby) ; Maratea (Panmure) ; Mamaru (Northcote and Birkenhead;; Marianne. The Sydney 18-footers are Taree (present world champion), Malvina and St. George, which will arrive with their crews by the Awatea on Monday next. The first race for the championship will be held on Wednesday next, the second on Friday, February 17, and the final on Saturday, February 18.
