HALL WANTED
VISITING BANDSMEN HAMILTON CONTEST AT EASTER Th© problem facing tbe Hamilton Band Committee in charge of the brass band contest in Hamilton at Easter to provide accommodation for the visiting bandsmen was indicated at a meeting of the Hamilton Technical School Board of Managers last evening, when an application was received from the committee for use of the school's assembly hall for the duration of the oontest. It was stated in the communication that the committee was making application for other halls in order to accommodate the bandsmen. The secretary-principal, Mr W. Fraser, explained that a considerable amount of school material was kept in the hall and that constant supervision would have to be exercised. The hall did not seem to him to be suitable for the purpose required. The chairman, Mr C. Nisbet, agreed with this viewpoint, but Mr B, H. Andrews expressed the opinion that in view of the fact that some 400 bandsmen would be coming to the town, something ought to be done to help the committee. The chairman considered that some other action might be taken to help the committee other than granting the use of the assembly hail, and it was decided to decline the application.
