PATROLLING THE SHOW
POLICE REINFORCEMENTS AUGMENTED STAFF ON DUTY While the Waikato Winter Show makes strenuous demands on the Police Force routine duties tn Hamilton have still to be carried out and so the staff of the Hamilton police station has been considerably augmented by reinforcements from other centres for the ten days of the exhibition. The number of visiting policemen is slightly larger this year as the Taharoa mystery has resulted in four of the Hamilton staff being away from town. Detectives Sneddon and Mahood, of Auckland, will be stationed at Hamilton for the show while Sergeant Dunne, of Rotorua and Constables Dunn (Rotorua), Hinton Aroha), Bowie (Cambridge). Audlev (Morrin*ville), O’Brien (Te Kuiti) and Beck (Paeroa) will be on duty at the exhibition each day. Members of tlie Hamilton force will assist in show duties from time to time as the men are available. Warning to Public The show is always an exacting time for the police and detectives as the interests of the public have to be protected. Annually as each show is in progress the police receive complaints of coats and other articles having been stolen from motor vehicles parked in the streets near the show building. The people are advised not. to leave articles nor ignition keys in motor-cars.
