A DECLINE IN PRICES LATEST LONDON QUOTATIONS DAIRY BOARD'S REPORT WEM.TNr.TON. Wednesday Advices from London indicate that Hie absence of business in butter on tho market i* era dually forcing prices to lower levels. Since the mid-season peak was reached at I.Vis per cut about May 13. the market for New Zealand butter has declined rapidly to around 12 is 6,| pop cwf. This is equivalent to around li.Oid per lb fo.b., against nearly 10.2 d per lb f.o.b. at flic higher quotation. The outlook in the market has been completely changed by improved production conditions in Europe. Stocks of all butters in store at the close of last we*»k were estimated by the Imperial Economic Committee at 8P9.709 boxes. This compares with 720.31 A boxes held in store at the same date last year. By arrangement with the Primary Products Marketing Department, the New Zealand hairy Hoard supplies the following information for the week ended May 2*. Azures for the previous week being given in parentheses:— Buffer.— New Zealand: Salted. 12 4s to 125 s 129 s to 130 s ; unsalted, 127 slo 128 s 13Is to 1325). HIDES AND SKINS THE AUCKLAND SALE AUCKLAND, Wednesday A full bench of buyers attended the fortnightly hide and skin sale held by Auckland brokers yesterday. Local fanners were operating freely and took the hulk of the offering. Hides again were easier, but there was a fair sale for skins. Tallow was unchanged. Prices for best grades were:— Hides.
