NEW PLATES AFFIXED
RE-LICENSING OF VEHICLES DEPOT BUSY YESTERDAY Vehicles In Hamilton to-day carried the new green-and-white registration plates, which, by law, must be affixed on and not before June 1. There were still a few drivers this morning who had failed to comply with the licensing regulations but by the afternoon the old black-and-white plates were only seen in isolated cases. A particularly busy day was experienced at the Hamilton re-licensing depot in Knox Street yesterday, when 604 vehicles were registered, bringing the total to date to 4017. During the whole of last year nearly 7000 vehicles were registered in Hamilton and it is expected that before the Knox Street office closes on Saturday a rush of late-comers will swell the present total to something in advance of that at June 4 last year.
