ONE DAY’S GRACE “ " THE NEW NUMBER PLATES NO INSURANCE COVER WELLINGTON, Wednesday A statement issued by the Minister of Transport, the Hon. R. Semple, today makes it clear that motorists must have the new number plates affixed to their vehicles before they drive them out to-morrow to come into the protection of the law. Vehicles can be driven to-day with the old plates provided the new ones are carried in the vehicle. There is no protection under the Third Party Risks Act after to-day for drivers who drive their vehicles without having bought the new number plates.
