ON EVE OF SHOW

ACCOMMODATION PROBLEM* BOARD AGAIN AT PREMIUM To-morrow will see the opening of the 32nd. annual Waikato Winter' Show and the annual accommodation problem for visitors has already made itself felt. Inquiries made at hotels and private accommodation houses throughout the borough to-day reveal that while one or two still have rooms available for visitors, In the majority space is at a premium and In many cases accommodation is completely hooked out for the show period. In this respect, the position seems to be much the same as last year but one' or two proprietors stated that visitors were arriving somewhat earlier than usual this year, some having been In town for nearly a week. The accommodation problem for Intending permanent residents Is, of course, Intensified at show time and one such person told a Waikato Times representative to-day that he had In the last few days unsuccessfully visited about 30 accommodation houses in the district and was now beginning a house-to-house canvass. Open to Chlldron Again Last year, owing to the infantile paralysis epidemic, school-children had to be excluded from the show In their own Interesls, and In consequence the show lacked some of the carnival spirit which customarily characterises it. This year, fortunately, the children will once' more have the freedom of the exhibition and the result should also be a marked increase In the attendance' of adults, since last year a large number of parents did not attend. Parties of school-children will be coming to Hamilton from all over the province and most comprehensive arrangements have been made for their transport and care while in Hamilton. Hot drinks and biscuits are being provided by the Waikato Children's Camp League for all such child visitors, while' the free entertainments in BledIsloe Hall are sure to find their most enthusiastic audience among the young people.
