Dr- M. J. P. Kelly, of Raglan, has left for Sydney en route to England.

Mr A. Gordon, of Hamilton, was a guest at the Auckland Rotary Club’s weekly luncheon yesterday.

Mr C. M. Hume, Herd Recording Supervisor of the New Zealand Dairy Board, is visiting Hamilton. Mr L. G. Michaels, of Hamilton, returned by the Monterey yesterday from a trip to Australia.

The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, has accepted an invitation to open the National Dairy Show at Palmerston North on June 14.

Mr Mervyn Wells was re-elected chairman of the Cambridge ElectricPower Board at the annual meeting of the board last evening.

The new Consul for Italy in New Zealand. Signor B. D’Acunzo, will arrive at. Wellington by the Wanganella from Sydney on June 8.

Archdeacon G. H. Gavin, of New Plymouth, is in Hamilton to-day for the half-yearly meeting of the Waikato Diocesan Standing Committee.

On a pastoral tcur of New Zealand, Archbishop Timotheos, Orthodox Metropolitan of Australia and New land, arrived in Auckland from Wellington this morning.

Messrs H. Edwards, W. J. Crowther, L. D. Evans, C. Thode (Auckland), J. H. Fowler (Wellington), W. R. G. Kemp (Whakat-ane), and D. Cameron (Hawera) are at the Hamilton Hotel.

Mr J. T. Johnson has been reelected chairman of the Te Awamutu Electric-Power Board for the ninteenth successive term. Mr J. A. Sutherland has been appointed deputychairman.

Mr S. S. Millington, Controller of Stores in the Railways Department, Wellington, has retired on superannuation and is succeeded by Mr P. M. Muir, who has been assistant controller for the past five years. In making the announcement, the Minister if Railways, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, extended the thanks of the Government and himself as Minister for the excellent work of Mr Millington as Controller and also his good work as 1 chairman of the advisory committee to the Stores Control Board.
